If you’re aged between 18 and 25 and from NE Lincs, a unique dance experience is open to you – and it could change your life!
Details have been released of auditions planned for May, with eight successful performers selected to take part in the PPP (People Power Partnership) project.
Over the next four years, the eight young people will join others from 11 European countries to form a dance group of around 100. Together they will create their own hip hop dance for the local stage, before going on tour.
The group will visit the team in Romania and host the team from Lithuania as they prepare for a European premiere in Germany and a European tour extending across all the partner countries, with a time commitment of just a few weeks a year until 2024.
Interested individuals, who need to be confident and have some performance experience, are invited to submit an introductory video about themselves, which will be followed by audition workshops. Subject to any Covid restrictions, these will be held locally on Friday 28, Saturday 29 and Sunday 30 May. Video submissions close on Monday 17 May.

A professional creative team from German theatre group, Pan Optikum, will select the successful eight from NE Lincs and work with all the performers to put together a ‘spectacular street theatre’ piece with a socially relevant focus.
Prior to the tours, visits are planned to other countries to forge closer links between the young people, with performances seeing around 100 of them work together. All expenses are paid during the whole project, which is co-funded by Creative Europe and North East Lincolnshire Council’s Cultural Development Fund, which is funded by the Department for Digital, Culture, Media and Sport and administered by Arts Council England.
“This is an absolutely fantastic opportunity for anyone who is passionate about performance, has a creative mind and is a real team player. It really is a unique chance to travel, to meet like-minded people and be part of something really special. That’s before you even consider the future opportunities that could open up by working with performance professionals from across Europe,” said Melissa Hommel, the project coordinator for organisers, Magna Vitae Trust for Leisure & Culture.
Melissa added how Covid restrictions in individual countries would be followed throughout with plans amended accordingly, if necessary.
